Whether it’s science, politics, popular culture, or any other topic, you can be sure there will be different opinions and heated conversations. Some of the most misrepresented subjects are nutrition, diet, and body image, as they are all subjects related to showing off a certain lifestyle or body type. Learn how to not be misled by social media influencers.

National Eating Disorder Awareness Week @ Various Locations

If you think you may have an eating disorder you are not alone! Join us for National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, 2/22-25th to learn more.  Our campus has an Eating Disorder Consultative Team that can help you so please reach out to the Student Health Center, Counseling Center, or Student Wellness & Health Promotion’s Nutrition Programs Mgr.and ask for information.


National Eating Disorders Awareness Week is an annual campaign to educate the public about the realities of eating disorders and to provide hope, support, and visibility to individuals and families affected by eating disorders.
 
This year’s theme is See the Change, Be the Change. UCI Counseling Center is graciously co-sponsoring various events. 
 

  • Mon, 2/21st Resource tabling @ ARC all week  – stop by and get a  free body affirmation card (while supplies last)
  •  Tues, 2/22nd  “Be the change/See the change” Resource tabling -expand your awareness of eating disorders and where to get help on our campus (sponsored by Counseling Center 11am-1pm SC Ring 25)
    •  4-5pm Social Media and Disordered Eating Workshop (via Zoom link https://uci-hipaa.zoom.us/j/98034301044)
      (led by Student Wellness & Health Promotion’s  dietitian Jody Margolis  and Counseling Center’s Sr. Staff Psychologist Dr. Tatiana Kassar)  Come see if you are at risk, how to spot fad diets and find social media that promotes body neutrality and anti-diet culture.
